He went from the bush to working at Hoover’s Sawmill on Westside Road. He always ran a small beef cattle ranch and loved his time riding the range. He was an active member of the community, serving many terms on the Okanagan Band Council and as a member of the Head of the Lake Rodeo Club. He had fond memories of his baseball days with the Head of the Lake Bluebirds who were the 1953 BC Indian Baseball Champions. He also spent many years on the local rodeo circuit riding saddle broncs in his younger years and later as a calf roper. He had a lifelong love for horses and two stepping to country music, which he listened to until his last moments. Nsyilxcen was his first language and he always welcomed the opportunity to converse with other Nsyilxcen speakers.
