It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of William Seth Anderson at his home on September 27, 2018. Born in Saint John on May 21, 1944, he was the son of the late Elmer and Florence (Ware) Clark and foster child to Ira and Mabel Anderson.
Billy was an adventurer and jack of all trades who’d worked many interesting jobs from carnival worker to machinist. He was quiet most of the time, but every now and then he’d entertain his friends and family by breaking out into the carnival chant. He had a great sense of humour, and you can still hear people laughing at his poems, songs, and corny jokes. Billy was friendly and talkative. A stranger was just a friend he hadn’t yet met: he genuinely liked everyone, and everyone liked him. Billy was a marathon runner who was well-known in the local running community. He and his sister Gail traveled all over the province to compete in road races with his many friends in the KV Road Runners and the Valley Runners. Billy enjoyed family get-togethers and taking road trips to far-flung places like Alberta, Ontario, New Hampshire, and New York. He loved his cheeseburgers and crossword puzzles, and he was an avid reader who was interested in genealogy.
Billy is survived by his two sons: Duane and David (Krista), brother Edwin (Theays) Boyce, and foster brother Rodney Anderson, sisters; Gail Teed and Judith Galbraith, and several cousins. He was especially close with his many great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews. In addition to his parents and foster parents, he was predeceased by his sister Muriel Martin, former wife, Diane Wilson and foster brother Roger Anderson.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, with interment to follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, memorial donations in Billy’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
