Wilfred Keeping Jr.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Wilfred Keeping Jr. announces his passing at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s, NL on Monday, October 15th, 2018 at the age of 74 years. Born in Burnt Islands, NL, Wilfred was the son of the late Wilfred Sr. and Estella Keeping (nee Munden). He was also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Seaward and Sarah Edmunds (nee MacDonald) and brother Clifford Keeping
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife of 52 years Carol Keeping (nee Edmunds); son Jeffrey Keeping of Brantford, Ont; daughters Annette (Tony) Hatcher of Burnt Islands, NL, Marina (Ken) O’Keefe of Trenton, Ont, Penny (David) Kennedy of Halifax, NS; grandchildren Eryn Kennedy of Halifax, NS, Kendra (Andrew) O’Keefe of Trenton, Ont, Tori Hatcher of Burnt Islands, NL, Jake Kennedy of Halifax, NS; brothers and sisters Willoughby (Selina) Keeping of Halifax, NS, Fred (Ada) Keeping, Carl (Barbara) Keeping, Chesley (Susie) Keeping all of Burnt Islands, NL, Lizzie (George) Barrett of Bishop Cove, NL; brother-in-law Thomas (Jane) MacDonald of St. John’s, NL; sisters-in-law Bernice (Clayton) Croucher, and Betty Keeping all of Burnt Islands, NL, plus a large circle of nephews, nieces and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Friday, October 19th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at St. George’s Anglican Church in Burnt Islands, NL from where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at 11 am officiated by The Rev. Jeffrey Petten. In keeping with Wilfred’s wishes, cremation will follow with interment of ashes to take place at a later date at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Junior’s memory can be made to the family.
