DANARD, Wayne Born September 14, 1939 at Minitonas, MB passed away at Nanaimo General Hospital February 09, 2018.
Pre-deceased by his son Brian, Wayne will forever be in the hearts of his wife of 58 years Clara, daughter Wendy (Tom) Munro, grandson Baylee, brother Barry (Judy) and numerous friends.
Wayne was born in Manitoba, and at an early age he moved to Saskatchewan. At the age of 18 years old, he joined the Saskatchewan Government Insurance Co. throughout the years of hard and diligent work, he climbed the ladder and at a very proud time of his career, became the East Claims Manager before retiring at 55.
Wayne very much enjoyed his Friday lunches with “the Boys” and if not puttering around the house, which he liked to do, Wayne could often be found talking with his friend Warren at the express hobby shop.
Wayne’s hobby was more of a passion – building and flying model airplanes. This was a hobby that lasted for years until a stroke took away his dexterity and ability to fly, although Wayne did keep some of his favorite planes just in case the day came he could fly again.
His love for his planes was only surpassed by his love for his family, and no one was more special to him than his one and only grandson Baylee. To say he was a proud grandfather would be stating it lightly.
Those who knew Wayne will miss his wit and charm. He was a proud Canadian, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Rest in peace.
As most of his friends are in Saskatchewan, there will be no formal service for Wayne on Vancouver Island, but for the sake of remembrance, please leave your thoughts and memories in the condolence section.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Wayne B DANARD September 14 1939 February 9 2018 (age 78).source
