Verna Ellen Doupe’, age 93, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Friday, December 28, 2018. Born in Harrington, daughter of the late Wesley and Elizabeth (MacKay) Barron. Predeceased by her loving husband Laverne “Sam” Doupe’ January 25, 2016. Loving mother of her three daughters, Lynne Doupe’ of Stratford, Jan (Larry) McIntyre of Vancouver, B.C. and Gail Doupe’ of Stratford, Proud grandmother of Scott (Jorgiena) McIntyre and Kristen (Tyler) Wilson and great-grandmother of Lewis, Ella and Rowan. Verna is survived by her sister, Velma Muldoon and sister-in-law Elfreda Barron and her brothers-in-law Gerald (Barb) Doupe’, Roy (Donna) Doupe’ and her many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Verna was predeceased by her son-in-law Jim McDonald and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Vonda and Stan Lemmons, Mac and Evelyn Barron and Orville Barron. In keeping with Verna’s wishes, a private family service has taken place, with burial in Avondale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice through the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. 519.271.7411
