Thelma “Jean Yablonski November 7 1928 September 28 2018

In Loving Memory Of
Thelma “Jean” Yablonski
Thelma “Jean” Yablonski of Williams Lake, BC, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018, at Deni House in Williams Lake, BC.
Jean was born November 7, 1928 in Castor, AB in her grandmother’s house to Charles and Madge Smyth. Her family settled in Endiang, AB where they farmed until 1947. They took a chance and headed north to homestead in the Wonderland region just north of Spirit River. There, Jean’s parents and their 7 children worked hard to build their home and farm. In 1953, Jean met and married her husband, Walter Dorig, and soon after welcomed their first son, Larry, and the same day, a year later, their second son Glen. Together they worked hard to raise their family and build a life in Wonderland. In 1965, they loaded up their car and headed to Abbotsford, BC where Jean and Walter raised their family. In 1979, Walter passed away and Jean later married her second husband Frank Yablonski. Eventually they settled at Puntzi Lake, BC where they spent over 25 years living out their dreams on their lake front property. Jean and Frank later settled in Williams lake, BC where Jean was the life of the party and always made fast friends until her passing.
She left behind her son Larry Dorig who passed away 7 weeks after her and her son Glen Dorig. She also leaves behind her grandson Ken Dorig,; granddaughter Brandy-Kim (Dennis) Cradduck and her two great-grandchildren Ethan and Lily-Jean Cradduck; brothers Ted Smyth, Gerry (Kathy Doll) Smyth; sisters Edna Kazakawich, Evelyn Blimkie, and Judy (James) Brenan; sister in-law Carol Smyth; step-daughter Christine and her two sons Ryan and Jared; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her parents Charles and Madge Smyth, first husband Walter Dorig, daughter Luise, second husband Frank Yablonski and brother Arnold Smyth.
Jean was a fun and witty woman who made friends wherever she went. She loved to spend her time visiting with friends tending her garden and painting. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life for both Jean and her son Larry will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 1:00pm, at the Rycroft Ag Society (5010 49 Ave., Rycroft, AB).
