Stanley Louis Bonk, 84, passed away in Lampman, SK on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Stanley was born in Glenavon, SK where he lived his entire life.
He was born December 5, 1933 at home to Mary Mucha and Joseph Bonk, the third of seven children. He met Coreen Seemann, who taught school in Candiac, SK and the two were married October 31, 1964. The two of them had five children and four grandchildren.
Stanley was a farmer and the land was in his blood. He also was a fundraiser and worked tirelessly to help raise money to help build the curling rink expansion in Glenavon. He was a staunch member of Holy Rosary Parish in Glenavon.
Stanley was predeceased by his wife Coreen; his parents, Joe and Mary Bonk; brothers, Ted Bonk (Wanda) of Regina, Allan Bonk of Glenavon, Sam Bank of Glenavon and Tony Bonk; brother-in-law Jack Bruce.
Stanley is survived by his sisters, Vicky Bonk of Regina and Clara Bruce of Regina; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Bonk and Kathy Bank of Glenavon. Stanley is also survived by his children, Marlow Bonk (Aurora) of Millet, AB, Corley Bonk (Tom Arkus) of Calgary, AB, Sr. Chantelle Bonk (Sisters for the Presentation of Mary) of Fort Qu’Appelle, Jason Bonk (Tina) of Swift Current, and Chris Bonk of Regina. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brett Bonk of Calgary, Mia Bonk of Swift Current and Malakai and Rowan Bonk of Regina and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary R.C. Church in Glenavon, SK on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
