A Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke, ON died in Pembroke on the 7th day of September, 2017 in the 75th year of her Religious Life. Left to mourn are the members of her Religious Community, and many devoted nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Leo James and Lillian Mary (Coyle), her brothers, William, James, Tim, Albert, Leo, Frank and Edward, her sisters Margaret Hayes, Elizabeth Flynn, Serena O’Leary, Teresa Doyle, g.s.i.c., Helen Doyle g.s.i.c., Marion Doyle, g.s.i.c, Rita Doyle, g.s.i.c, and Aileen Doyle, g.s.i.c. Marie was born on December 22nd, 1923 in Sunderland, Ontario, a twin to Marion. She entered the Community on September 8th, 1942, pronouncing final vows on July 24th, 1947. A teacher by profession, she taught in Ottawa, Timmins, Pembroke, Eganville and Windsor. In retirement, she served at St. Patrick’s Home, Ottawa, the Motherhouse in Pembroke, and for many years in Rock Sound, Bahamas, as teacher and Pastoral Visitor. Her final years were lived peacefully at Shalom Residence, Pembroke. Visitation at Caritas Residence, 215 Deacon Street, Pembroke, Tuesday, September 12th, 2017 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at Caritas Residence. Interment in St. Columba’s Cemetery. Arrangements in the care of Neville Funeral Home.
