Silvino Di Paolo
Silvino Di Paolo, aged 86, born in Castle Mauro Cambobaso, Italy in 1932. At the age of 18, he left home to work in the coal mines of Belgium for 5 years and then moved on to Canada in 1955. Wife Maria joined him in 1956 and were married for 63 years. Silvio worked for Haqual Construction and then started a successful trucking and heavy machinery business. He volunteered in the building of the DaVinci Centre and St. Dominic’s Church and was an active member. Predeceased by his parents Nicola and Teresa nee Yuliani; brothers Antonio, Vincenzo and Giuseppe; sisters Mafalda and Maria, and nephews Nicholas, Frank and Mario. Survived by wife Maria; brother Pasqual (Sisina); children Angela Bedard (Rick), Robert, Nick (Carrie), Tony (Britta) and Mike Di Paolo; grandchildren Jessica, Jacob, Julia, Claire, Nathan, Sophia and Dalton. As well as many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Mass for Silvino Di Paolo will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 when family and friends will gather at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church for 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Mike Mahoney. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Vigil for Silvino will be held at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 South Syndicate Avenue, at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 with Vigil Prayers held at 7:00 p.m.
