Semida Johnson
1927-2018
RICHIBUCTO, NB –
Sémida Johnson, 91, formerly of Richibucto passed away
peacefully at the Villa Maria, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Monday, March
5th, 2018. Born in Saint-Ignace,
she was the daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Evelyne (Robichaud)
Gallant. Before retiring, Sémida worked as a cook in the
restaurant industry.
Sémida will be sadly missed by her
daughter, Alice Johnson of Richibucto; five sons, Omer (Roberte) of
Saint-Ignace, Ovila (Diane) of Moncton, Ola (Jeannine) of
Saint-Ignace, Yvon of Aldouane and Vincent (Wendy) of Oshawa, ON; 12
grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great
great-grandchild.
Sémida also leaves to mourn her five
sisters, Yvonnice Daigle (late Paul) of Aldouane, Alice Richard
(Vincent) of Saint-Louis, Anna Daigle (Francois) of Saint-Ignace,
Marie-Louise Landry (Normand) of Shediac and Rita Pellerin (Ben) of
Saint-Louis; her two brothers, Leo-Paul (Leonice) of Richibucto and
Dolphe (Linda) of Saint-Louis; as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, Sémida is predeceased
by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Johnson; her infant
son, Arthur; two sisters, Bertha Doiron and infant sister Eva; and
three brothers,Arthur, Josephat and
Francois.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s
Funeral Home, Richibucto on Thursday from 7-9pm and Friday from 9:00am
until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on
Friday, March 9th, 2018 at 11:00am,
Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto. Memorial
donations in Sémida’s memory made to the Canadian
Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would
be appreciated by the
family.
