Russell Arthur “Rusty” Stout
STOUT, Russell Arthur “Rusty” – Passed away, peacefully, at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the age of 61. Dear brother of Jack, Bev Boyd (Doug), Vern (Solveg), Raymond (Louise) and brother-in-law of Margie Stout. He will be lovingly remembered by his dear friends Donna Pearson and her children Ryan and Jeff and David Taylor who travelled from Sydney, Australia to be with Russell in his final days. Sadly missed by his faithful companion – his dog Molly. He is also survived by his special aunt Sybil Balcom (late Lorne) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents George and Myrtle Stout and by his brother Brian.
Born in Welland, Russell graduated from Centennial Secondary School and Brock University. The friendships he formed early in life remained with him and for 40 years those same friends would meet each year on Super Bowl Sunday. He was, quite possibly, the most loyal New England Patriot fan ever proudly sporting Tom Brady’s number on many a treasured football jersey, t-shirt and hat. He knew his bucket list was finally completed when he travelled to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts to see his team play live.
Young at heart, Russell had a way of organizing parties and events like no other.
His kind, generous and outgoing nature touched everyone he met and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Respecting Russell’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at St. David’s Anglican Church, 369 Thorold Road, Welland on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 2p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to the ParaMed Nurses and the staff from the Walker Cancer Centre for their exceptional care and compassion.
Memorial donations, in memory of Russell, may be made to a charity of one’s choice with cards available at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland who are in care of the funeral arrangements.
