In Loving Memory
BROWN, Rosaria, (nee Nearing)
Peacefully on Monday May 21, 2018 at the age of 95. Rose leaves behind her beloved husband Paul to whom she was married for almost 71 years. Devoted mother of Ann, Stephen, Paul, Linda and Eric, she was much loved by her grandchildren: Dana, Tess, Abby, Shaylee and Keara. She was one of 16 children born of Flora McMullin and Patrick Nearing, Rose is survived by her brother Francis in Oregon, and predeceased by her son, David. Rose and Paul met while studying at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. They married and settled in Montreal and moved later on to Ottawa. They enjoyed spending winters in Florida. Mom was an avid sports fan; whether it was hockey, football or golf, she followed her favorite teams closely. When she turned 87, she was asked: “Mom who is 87?” “Sidney Crosby” she replied, without missing a beat. Rose will be forever missed by her family and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Malachy’s Church, 3889 HWY-315, Mayo, QC J8L 3Z8 on Thursday, May 31 at 11:30 am.
