Life Legacy
ANSTEY, Rose Anne – Rose Anne Anstey, 90, of Niagara Falls, Ontario passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Rose was born on July 25, 1927 in Ottawa, Ontario. She obtained her RN designation in 1948 from St. Mary’s Infirmary in Halifax. Rose was the head nurse of paediatrics at the Greater Niagara General Hospital from 1949 to 1964. She later worked as the supervisor of St. Mary’s Manor in Niagara Falls, New York from 1967 until her retirement. She was married to James Anstey for 49 years from 1965 until his passing in 2014. Rose was an active member in the community of Our Lady of the Scapular church, where she oversaw the Holy Eucharist to the Homebound program for a number of years. She is survived by her son Kevin Anstey (Julie), her niece Mary Anstey-Ressler (Bill), her brother in law Patrick Anstey, three grandchildren, Andrew Anstey, Jarrod Anstey, and Kayleigh Anstey; and many other nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2 pm at Our Lady of Scapular Church in Niagara Falls,Ontario with a reception to follow in the parish hall. No visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by her family.
