Obituary for
Robert Salter
SALTER, Robert Raymond – Passed away at the Niagara Falls
General Hospital on May 20, 2018 after a brief illness in his 86th year.
Predeceased by his parents Ambrose and Isobel Salter, brother William
(Bill) Salter and sister Betty Hargreaves. Bob was uncle to Doug
Hargreaves (Tara), Don Hargreaves (Ann-Carol), Barry Hargreaves (Janice), Jane Switzer (Jim) and Linda Hargreaves (Kevin). Bob grew up in
Welland and moved to Fort Erie in his later life. His love of travel took
him on many adventures around the world. He loved to read and always
wanted to learn and grow. Bob was a long-time member at the Fort Erie
YMCA where he would start every day. Bob loved horses and racing
and enjoyed Sunday afternoons at the Fort Erie race track. He was a
faithful member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Bob will be sadly
missed by all those who knew him. Cremation has taken place. There
will be a service in Bob’s memory at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 32
Idylewylde Street, Fort Erie on Saturday June 2, at 3:00 pm
followed by refreshments. As an expression of sympathy, memorial
donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Fort Erie YMCA. Online
