Ralph Michael Chantrill
August 20, 1940 – September 15, 2018
Ralph Chantrill of Picton died tragically on Saturday, 15 September 2018. He was returning home on his scooter on a warm summer afternoon after buying his favourite apples when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
He is survived by Mary, his dearest wife of 45 years and loving daughters Tanaquil (Les) and Meaghan (Patrick) and precious grandchildren Yuna and Eamon and Auden and Emric. He is also survived by his sister, Delia McLeod (John), nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, England and the U.S.
Ralph and Mary were avid hikers and enjoyed trips to New Zealand, Kilimanjaro, Bavarian Alps, West Coast of Ireland, Canadian Rockies and in the spring spent a month hiking in Sedona, Arizona.
While Ralph was a professional engineer, his greatest joys were building and fixing items both for family and others. Ralph was truly a unique person who touched the lives of many and will be profoundly missed. If wished, donations in his name may be made to Community Care for Seniors in Picton, ON.
A celebration of his life will be held at Lake on the Mountain Resort in Picton on Saturday, 20 October from 1pm to 4pm.
Forever and ever in our hearts.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ralph Michael Chantrill August 20 1940 September 15 2018..

  1. Dear Mary,
You have suffered a cruel loss and my heart goes out to you and your family. You have so many friends and I’m sure that they will help you through the awful pain and loss you are now feeling. Nobody can replace Ralph and I suppose that we should all be grateful that we had him in our lives for so many years.
Please know that I am thinking of you every day. Erin also sends her condolences to all of you as well.
    With love,
    Pat Burns

  2. Dear Mary,
I don’t have the words to express my sorrow over your sudden and tragic loss. Ralph was a wonderful husband and friend to you, and father to Tanaquil and Meaghan. Our thoughts and love are with you all.
    Love
    Mickey and Bill Naisby
