It is with sadness the family of Mary Elizabeth “Betty” McNeill announce her passing which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Saturday December 22, 2018. Born in Saint John on October 3rd, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Florence (Bourque) Daigle. Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother and nanny. She was loving and supportive and was a second mom to many neighborhood children. Betty enjoyed gardening, reading, painting and especially family gatherings and time with friends. She was a member of Full Gospel Assembly.
Those who knew her will miss her forever. Betty is survived by her husband of 43 years Mike McNeill; children Lee McNeill, Joseph McNeill (Joy), Jessica McNeill (Chris Munn) and Reuben McNeill (Jenna Flight) all of Saint John; two precious grandchildren Savannah and Sawyer; sisters Anne Gordon (Ronnie) and Donna Tufts Lawson; brother Donald Daigle; many aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents, Betty was predeceased by her sister Theresa Bertin.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. Memorial service to follow in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 8:00 p.m. Private family interment to be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.
