OBITUARY
Phyllis Catherine Rush
June 9, 1950 – December 30, 2018
On December 30, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer, Phyllis passed away at home unexpectedly. Beloved sister of Ian, Kevin, Kathleen, Rose and Alan of Scotland and Billy of Miami. Predeceased by brother Hugh. Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout Canada and Scotland. Thanks to her good friend Marie Misener for a lifetime of true friendship and happy memories. Phyllis was a kind and loving woman who was generous beyond measure to her family and friends. We will always remember her giving heart, her laughter and love of life. Her happy and positive outlook ensured that Phyllis was always surrounded by friends. Phyllis spent many happy years at Stelco before retirement at which time she began her second career as a dedicated volunteer at the Juravinski Cancer Centre. She also enjoyed her years as secretary of the Celtic Football Club in Hamilton. Following Phyills’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life memorial for family and friends will take place later. If you wish, donations may be made to the Hamilton Health Sciences Volunteer Association, Juravinski Cancer Centre, 699 Concession Street, Hamilton, Ontario, L8V 5C2, whose kindness provided much comfort to Phyllis during her journey home.
