Percy Vincent “Vinnie” Weatherbee
1936-2018
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of
Percy Vincent “Vinnie”
Weatherbee, 82 years, of Springhill, on Monday,
December 17, 2018 in High Crest Nursing Home,
Springhill.
Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Percy and Lillis
(Coleman) Weatherbee.
Vinnie was a miner who loved his work and was the last
surviving member of the Draegerman Crew in Springhill. He was an avid
hunter, and enjoyed hunting with his best friend Bob Manley. He loved
darts, both for fun and in competition.
A devoted husband, wonderful father and grandfather, he will
be dearly missed by his wife the former Muriel Colborne, of Wyvern,
NS; sons Dan (Bernie), Medicine Hat, AB and Rob (Sharon), Collingwood,
NS; daughters, Sheree (Glen) Hunter, Springhill, NS and Patty
Weatherbee (Harold Fraser), Springhill, NS; several grand and great
grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Bruce in 1973; great grandson
Vincent; son-in-law Ian Johnston; brothers, Earl, George
“Buster”, Melvin “Mellie” and a sister, Eleanor
Craig.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of
A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane
Street, Springhill (902-597-2361). Family and friends are invited to
the funeral home where we will celebrate and remember Vinnie at an
Afternoon of Remembrance from 2:00 – 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 23,
2018. A private family committal will be held in the Hillside Cemetery
in the spring.
Donations in memory of Vinnie may be made to the charity of
your choice.
