Obituary of Patricia Sorochan
Patsy passed away peacefully on Saturday December 30, 2017 at the age of 77 years. She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Mary Sorochan. She is survived by her sisters Elsie Zimmerman (Alvin) and Anne Rolston; her nieces Lorrie, Kathy, Jeanne and Brenda; nephew David and their families. Upon graduation from Scott Collegiate, Patsy attended the University of Saskatchewan obtaining her B.Ed and B.Comm. She taught at Scott Collegiate and Thom Collegiate, taking early retirement after 33 years. She enjoyed teaching teenagers and various extra-curricular activities, including girls basketball, training SRC treasurers, preparing school newspapers and other activities. Patsy served on several business executives, participated in Superannuated Teacher’s choir and functions, and was church treasurer for many years. She enjoyed collies; breeding, showing and obedience training and was as a lifetime member of Wascana Dog Club. Over the years, she hired home care for her invalid mother and took her out to various events believing handicapped people needed stimuli to live. Funeral Service will be held at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 2075 McDonald Street, Regina, SK, S4N 2Y4 on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Vitaly Ihnativ. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made in Patsy’s name to her church, St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, or to the charity of your choice.
