Patricia “Nancy” Ellis
1941-2018
The daughters of Patricia “Nancy” (Spragg) Ellis sadly
announce her passing on May 27, 2018 at the Carleton-Kirk Lodge, Saint
John NB. Wife of the late Charles Edward Ellis, she was born in Saint
John NB on November 16, 1941 to the late Ralph and Jessie (Henderson)
Spragg.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, mother-in-law
and sister-in-law, Nancy will be fondly remembered by her daughters:
Brenda (Losier) Allison (Brian Crilley) of St. George NB and Patty
(Roland) MacIntosh of Grand Bay-Westfield NB; son-in-law: Andrew Godin
of Ottawa ON; grandchildren: Tammie (Paul) Campbell, Margo (Nick)
Best, Marie (Travis) Losier, Perley (Megan) MacIntosh, Dean (Heyley)
MacIntosh, Devon MacIntosh and Brianne Godin; great-grandchildren:
Alex, Emma, Carter and Elise; brother: Arthur “Bud” (Penny)
Spragg of Ignace ON; sister: Isabelle (late Wally) Connors of Lower
Sackville NS; her best friend from childhood: Marilyn Galbraith of
Lincoln NB; and many brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and
cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was predeceased
by her daughter: Edna Marie Godin; sister: Betty Deaman; and
son-in-law: Peter Allison.
Prior to retirement, Nancy worked at the Provincial Hospital and then
the Carleton-Kirk Lodge until her retirement. She did volunteer work
with CGIT, Girl Guides and was a long time volunteer with the
Westfield Ambulance. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion
Branch # 22 in Grand Bay. Nancy enjoyed curling and was a member of
the Carleton Curling Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family
and friends, especially Marilyn. She will be sadly missed by her
daughters, family and friends but her memory will be cherished
forever.
Brenda, Patty and family would like to thank Dr. Grant, Dr. Thornhill
and the staff for the special care that they gave to Nancy during her
stay at Carleton-Kirk. Your compassion and kindness will never be
forgotten.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26
Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the funeral home with
visiting on Thursday from 1-3 pm followed by the funeral service
beginning at 3:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Stevenson officiating.
The interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint
John on Friday at 10:00 am. In Nancy’s memory, donations to Charlotte
County Cancer or to the Carleton-Kirk Lodge would be appreciated by
the family.
