Norma Rachel Palmer
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Norma Rachel Palmer at the age of 91, on January 29, 2018.
Norma was born in Niagara Falls but she lived the majority of her life in Scarborough. She was the daughter of the late Eva Blakemore (Ben) and the late Arthur Love. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Fred Palmer in August of 1990.
Norma will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Ruth Dakin (Cecil) of Owen Sound; her sons: Wayne Palmer (Sue) of Uxbridge, Steven Palmer of Scarborough, and Scott Palmer of Scarborough; her grandchildren: Gordon Dakin, Lisa Cox (Doug), Amy Parker (Jeff) and Noelle Palmer; her great-grandchildren: Lily, Cayden, Alexander and Elizabeth; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Besides her husband, Norma was predeceased by her siblings: Audrey Erickson, Richard Blakemore, Roy Blakemore, and her grandson: Mark Dakin.
The most important thing in Norma’s life was her family. She loved the dinners she had with Wayne and his family, sorting through stamps with Scott, her trips to Ruth’s in Owen Sound, and the special bond between her and Steven. Her pride and joy were all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was everything!
When Norma wasn’t with her family she could be found keeping busy by reading a book, knitting, doing crafts or baking something delightful.
A Celebration of Norma’s Life will be held in the Spring or Summer of 2018. Time, place and date to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice as an expression of sympathy.
