HAZEN, Natalie (née Celentano) – Passed with peace and grace on September 16, with her family at her side. Survived by her husband Randy of Oakville, daughter Kaitlin of Toronto, and two step-sons Sean (Nicole) of Winnipeg and Craig of Brisbane, Australia. She is also survived by her siblings: John Celentano (Elene), Tina Celentano-Tahiri (Rachid), Eric Celentano, Rosemary Celentano-Kercz, and Kerri Dobszewicz (Edward), as well as her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving father, Joseph Celentano and devoted mother, Catherine (Katie) Celentano.
Natalie was born in North Bay, attended Michipicoten High School in Wawa, and moved to Toronto as a young woman to begin her career as a registered nurse. Natalie lived her passion for providing care and support to children during her 15-year tenure at The Hospital for Sick Children. In 1985, Natalie was introduced to a dashing gentleman through her cousin Brian, and quickly realized that Randy Hazen was the love of her life. After marrying Randy, she threw her energies into raising their daughter, Kaitlin. A nurturer by nature, Natalie became a ‘second mother’ to Kaitlin’s peers; when asked, Natalie was always ready to provide sound wisdom as well as a perfectly prepared cup of tea. Guided by a strong faith, Natalie was an active member of Harvest Bible Chapel, as well as a dedicated participant of Women’s Ministries for more than 20 years. Natalie’s love of travel resulted in exciting global adventures, however she often said her favourite destination was sitting at home in the evenings with her family while watching Jeopardy. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt, as well as a devoted friend, whose greatest passion was helping others.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 29 at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West in Oakville from 6 – 9 p.m. A second visitation will be held on Sunday, September 30 at Harvest Bible Chapel, 500 Great Lakes Boulevard in Oakville, from 2 – 3:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held following Sunday’s visitation, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Kaizer and Dr. Benjamin for their care, as well as the nurses, PSWs and volunteers at Ian Anderson House. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Natalie’s name to Kerr Street Mission, Drummond House or Ian Anderson House.
She leaves us rich in memories.
