Muriel Leblanc 2018

Obituary Overview
Muriel Leblanc
Leblanc, Muriel (nee King)
Mom passed away suddenly in the arms of her loving son Steven at 9:30 pm on Saturday, December 22nd 2018. She was 91 years old. Beloved wife of 66 years of the late Lucien Leblanc (2014). She is predeceased by her parents, Matilda and Daniel King, her birth mother Mildred Hutchinson, her daughter Jo-Ann (1954) and all of her brothers and sisters and in laws.
She was the devoted mother of Ricky, Brian (the late Rachelle Bigras) Steven, David and her daughter Carol Ann. She was the cherished grandmother of Derek (Lisa), Shawn (Jen), Michele (Jason), Paul and Matthew. She will live on in her great grandchildren Brendan, Julia, Stella and Olivia. She will be missed but fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews as well as her godchildren Linda Howell-Savard and Paul Leblanc.
In addition to raising her children, Mom had a career with OHIP here in Ottawa and she will be fondly remembered by her co-workers Joan Burke, Winnie Dugal and Sadhana Nagnur whom she stayed in touch with since her retirement 36 years ago. She was a proud and joyful member of Pat Black’s Happy Tappers well into her 80s. She loved to perform and she had fond memories of the camaraderie and good times afforded to her by those relationships.
Mom’s priority was always her family. She was kind, generous, decent, principled, modest and honest. She taught us the meaning of fairness and compassion. She was a great cook and there was always room at her Sunday dinner table for all of her children’s wayward friends…We will forever cherish the blessing Mom has been to our lives. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Our world will never be the same without her. Goodbye Mom, until we meet again!
Our family would like to thank mom’s family physician, Dr. Agnes Tanguay, Jodi Gannon of the LHIN (CCAC), Carefor Nursing, especially Michelle Jamieson, and the wonderful personal support workers from Paramed, especially Delia and Jeanne. Mom loved all of you and she felt valued and our family felt blessed. We would also like to thank our city’s emergency response services for the kindness extended to our family.
