Millicent
MacDonald, 97, of Monarch Hall, Riverview and formerly of Moncton,
passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, December 1, 2018.
Born in Liverpool, England, she was the daughter of the late George
and Millicent (Marsden) Leigh.
Millicent
was a member of the Royal Air Force during World War II, was an
ambulance driver, where she met her future husband, Howard.
They were married at Stratford Upon Avon, before returning to
Canada.
Millicent is
survived by a son, John Roy; two daughters, Katherine MacKinnon and
Ann Murphy, all of Moncton, NB; five grandchildren, Kevin (Dr. Janet
Balderston), Leigh and Jessie MacKinnon (Ryan Day), Joey (Kim Bouzane)
and Crystal Murphy; four great grandchildren, Kyle MacKinnon and Alex,
Ayden and Liam Murphy; a brother, Peter Leigh (Elsie) of Liverpool,
England. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by
her husband, Howard J.D. MacDonald (2011) and a brother, George Leigh
and sister, Betty Baker.
In keeping
with Millicent’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours
or funeral service. Private family graveside service will be
held.
In
lieu of flowers, donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital or
to the Greater Moncton S.P.C.A would be
appreciated.
