Obituary Overview
Mildred June Erickson
Mildred Erickson, our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and special friend to many, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at the age of 91 years.
She will be forever remembered by her children: Ron (Sharon), Gay (Dwayne Kushniruk), Gavin, Candace, Calvin (Joan Balbas); her brother Fred (Laurie); her grandchildren: Darlene (Brad), Gaylene (Arne), Glen (Arlene), Blaise, Breanne, Caleb; and by her numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mildred was predeceased by her husband Roy, who she married during the war years; her siblings Barbara, Ed, Marge, Dora, Irene; and niece Darlene.
Mildred took great pleasure in socializing with her family and friends, her air gunner wives network, her Canadian Legion comrades, and most recently with her shuffle board teammates. Celebrating birthdays and holidays were her favourite times of year – the food, celebration and preparation.
A celebration of Mildred’s life will be held at Westlawn Funeral Home, located at 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Service to commemorate Mildred’s long and wonderful life will commence at 10:00 a.m. Please come early and bring your favourite memory of Mildred and any photos you would like to share and add to her memory board.
Our family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Fields, whom she adored, and our appreciation to the Neurology and Cardiology health care professionals who work at Emergency Care and Unit 4G4 at the University of Alberta Hospital, who provided such compassionate care for Mildred during her last days.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mildred June Erickson 2018.source
