In Loving Memory of
Mildred was born on October 3, 1921 near Liberty, SK and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Regina.
She was predeceased by her husband Edwin; parents John and Autumn (nee Cairns) McCrea; sisters Evelyn, Leona and Ella.
Mildred will be lovingly remembered by her children Lee, Bonnie (late Wayne) Nagel, Carol (John) Carruthers and Gaylene (Ken) Hipfner; grandchildren Rhonda (Chris) Bjorndahl, Jason Hipfner (Stacey Fayant), Angela Hipfner (Kenton Hall) and Peter Carruthers (Vanessa LeBlanc); great grandchildren Shanelle and Ryland Bjorndahl and Lilla Fayant and Terron Hall; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including in-laws Myrtle Bishop, Bea Schaffer, Pat Hunt and their families.
She enjoyed her childhood on the farm and in 1942 she came to Regina to attend Balfour Technical School. In 1943 she started her working career at the Big Arm Municipal Office and Canada Life Insurance and later on in life at Sears Canada and the Federal Government.
Mildred and Edwin were married on November 11, 1944 and enjoyed their married life in Regina, adding four children along the way.
Mildred and Edwin also enjoyed travelling throughout Canada, the United States and Great Britain.
She was a lifelong hand craft learner as she liked to crochet, knit, sew, do ceramics, embroidery and also reading, watching sports and being up to date on current events.
The family extends its thanks and appreciation for the generous care and love provided to Mildred during her long residency at Victoria Park Personal Care Community, as well as to the staff and doctors at the Pasqua Hospital Emergency and Unit 3D for their care and compassion.
A CELEBRATION OF MILDRED’S LIFE will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
