Born – April 4th, 1949 in Port Alberni BC. Passed away peacefully at home in Port McNeill November 6, 2018.
Raised in Sarita River and Nanaimo, by a family well known in the logging industry, Mike moved to the Nimpkish Valley as a teenager for work. He settled in Port McNeill in 1982.
Mike is survived by his favourite loyal dragon-lady, Mary, his siblings: Christina (of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho), John (of Victoria, BC) and Paul (of Nanaimo, BC), his children: James (Andrea), Nicky (Rian), grandchildren: Maya, Anika, and Sam, and so many friends and family around the world who loved him, and whom he loved.
Mike was employed in various roles within the logging industry, and he ended his working career as a picture framer.
Mike was a keen sports enthusiast, devoting many years to playing and coaching football, lacrosse, hockey, and baseball. He also enjoyed darts, chess, bridge and cribbage.
A memorial service will be held on November 10, 2018 at 3:00pm. The location will be the St John Gualbert (the A- frame) church, Port McNeill, 175 Cedar St.
