It is with great sadness that the family of the late MELITA
RIGGS of Grand Bank announces her passing at her home in Grand Bank on
Tuesday, December 5th, 2018 at the age of 98. Leaving to mourn with
fond and loving memories are; sons, Bert Riggs of St.
John’s, Robert Riggs (Peggy) of Grand Bank, Tom Riggs
(Noreen) of Brampton, On; daughter, Margaret Prior (Keith) of Grand
Bank; sister, Sylvia May of Pools Cove; brother, Robin Bishop of Pools
Cove; 6 grandchildren, Neil, Bradley, Kayla, Jacob, Lucas, Kassandra;
4 Great-grandchildren, McKinley, Alex, Issac, Evan; Special nephew,
Chris & niece, Linda; Special friend, Lucy Matthews; Home care
worker, Lisa Hiscock; plus a large circle of extended family and
friends. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Riggs; parents,
Thomas & Janet Bishop; sisters, Lydia & Melinda;
brother, George; Special niece, Aurelia Emberley.
The Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s
Funeral Home in Grand Bank on Wednesday, December 5th from 7:00pm to
9:00pm, Thursday, December 6th and Friday, December 6th from 2:00 pm
to 4:00 pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Funeral service will take place at the United Church in Grand
Bank on Saturday, December 8th at 2:00pm.
In Melita’s memory, donations may be made to the
Grand Bank United Church Cemetery Fund or flowers gratefully
accepted.
