Maryann (nee Matheson) Pacey
On October 30, 1936, a daughter was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Walter and Kate Matheson. Their hearts were filled with joy; they named their child Maryann Matheson.
At an early age, Maryann moved from Winnipeg to Chicago where she started her career at Cook County Hospital in the blood bank department where she worked for many years. While continuing her education at the local college Maryann met Raymond Cohn Sr.
On February 20, 1960, Maryann and Raymond were united in Holy Matrimony. To this union four children were born: Maurice, Katherine, Raymond Jr., and Karen. In 1997, Raymond Cohn Sr. preceded Maryann’s death.
A generous, talented and energetic woman, Maryann loved to travel, dance and play bingo. While enjoying these activities, she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Pacey; they later married in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After retirement, Maryann and Bill spent most of their time with family and friends at their cottage home located at Winnipeg Beach. They enjoyed a full and happy life.
Peacefully on the morning of January 7, 2018, Maryann was called home by our Lord and Savior to join her loved ones that preceded her in death – her parents and many loved ones.
Leaving to cherish her loving memory is her husband, children, eleven grandchildren: Tashonna, Crystal, Estavian, Karen (KK), Kayla, Raymond (Ray Ray), Jayda, A’Lantis and Aungelique (AJ), Eric and Derik; and her thirteen great-grandchildren; three step sons, Joseph (Geraldine), Joey (Paige) and Allan (Glory); two son-in-laws (Llewelyn and Anthony); one daughter-in-law (Judeta); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Many will truly miss Maryann.
Missing Link
Little did we know that morning God was going to call your name.
In life, we loved you dearly; in death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories; your love is still our guide.
And, though we cannot see you, you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same.
But, as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
Your Loving family.
