Mary Laura Spicer
1935-2018
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on October 29,
2018, Mrs. Mary Laura (Tidd) Spicer, wife of the late Malby L. Spicer,
of Beaver Harbour NB. Born at Tiddville NS on March 31, 1935, she was
a daughter of the late James and Minnie A. (Burns) Tidd.
A loving mother, grandmother, companion and sister, she is survived by
her daughter; Sharon (Neil) Boudreau of Beaver Harbour NB, her sons;
Bedford (Paula) Spicer and Robert (Donna) Spicer both of Beaver
Harbour NB, eight grandchildren: Paul Boudreau (Misty Barrett), Daniel
(Stephanie) Boudreau, Cheri Spicer (Chuck Leonard), Veronica (Michael)
Taylor, Melissa (Jamie) Thorne, David (Stacey) Crawford and James and
Matthew Spicer, 13 great grandchildren, her companion; Robert Burton
of Pennfield NB, her sister; Iva (Orland) Guier, brothers: James
(Claudia) Tidd, Allan (Wanda) Tidd and Chester (Joan) Tidd as well as
several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and
husband Malby, she was predeceased by a son; Ronald, two brothers;
Hubert and Leonard and a sister Violet.
Prior to her retirement, Mary was employed for several years at
Connors Brothers in both Beaver Harbour and Blacks Harbour. In her
quiet times she enjoyed knitting, crocheting as well as gardening. Her
greatest passion was playing music and singing and was church musician
for many years at both Beaver Harbour Baptist church where she was a
long time member and Calvary Atlantic Baptist church in Blacks
Harbour. She also volunteered for many years at the Fundy Nursing Home
in Blacks Harbour. Her other passion was her family and especially her
grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew
her.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George
(755-3533) with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 pm and Thursday 2-4 and
7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from the Beaver Harbour
Baptist Church on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Bill Lee
officiating. Interment will take place following the funeral service
in Pennfield Rural Cemetery. A time of fellowship will follow the
interment at the Beaver Harbour Community Center. In Mary’s memory,
donations to the New Brunswick Heart and Stoke foundation or a charity
of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
