Mary Georgina “Dolly”‘s Obituary
GREENWOOD – Mary Georgina “Dolly” MacDonald, 88, Greenwood, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Eugene and Mary Ann (King) Sheehan. Dolly was a homemaker and “a domesticated MacGyver”, who worked alongside her husband, Vince, raising three children, managing home and Vincent A. MacDonald Automotive. She possessed a considerate and generous spirit, giving of herself to family and friends. Dolly’s tenacity and perseverance remained strong until the end. She leaves a rich legacy of determination, faith and love to her family.
Surviving are daughters, Charmaine MacDonald (Daniel), Greenwood; Sherri MacDonald, New Glasgow; son, Vince MacDonald, Greenwood; grandchildren, Ashley (Denny), Nakita (Andrez), Angela (Rodney), Amber, Allison (Derrick), Lauren and Emma; great-grandchildren, Jamie, Dawson, Mia, Ethan, Aubrey “Bree”, Maxwell and Ethan; sisters, Frances Thompson, Trenton; Elizabeth Millen, New Glasgow; brother, Doug (Mary) Sheehan, New Glasgow; sisters-in-law, Carol Sheehan, Ontario; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Vincent MacDonald; daughter-in-law, Wanda; grandson-in-law, Dale; sister, Katherine in infancy; brothers, Daniel “Bud”, David, Gordon and Angus.
The family will receive visitors 10-10:50 a.m. Monday, December 31st in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in MacLellans Mountain Cemetery at a later date.
