Mary Elizabeth Young
1936-2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Elizabeth
(Harvey) Young announce her passing on December 13, 2018, at the Dr.
Everett Chalmers Hospital surrounded by her family. Born on February
1, 1936 in Grand Manan, she was daughter of the late Fletcher Wade and
Roberta (Fraser) Harvey.
Mary enjoyed playing golf with her friends, volunteering at
the Community Kitchen and Wilmot Church, travelling to warmer climates
and following the activities of her kids, grand and great
grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her razor sharp
memory and solid as a rock guidance and support.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband William
“Bill” Young; children Jennifer Chisholm (Dave), Kim
Webb (Terry) and Jamie Young (Karen Robichaud); grandchildren Amy
Thornton (Tim), Robbie Chisholm (Niki), Sam Webb (Sarah), Hannah Webb
(Tim Sullivan), Patrick Daley (Rachel) and Thomas (Maddy) Daley; great
grandchildren Emily, Abby, Jillian, Jacob and Brady; sister Ruth
Cooper; sister-in-law Joan Harvey, as well as several nephews and
nieces, including Judi who was more like a sister.
In addition to Mary’s parents, she was predeceased
by her brothers Scott and Lawrence “Buddy”, as well
as sisters Margaret, Christine, Audrey and Hildred.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on
Monday, December 17, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A memorial
service will be held at Wilmot United Church on Tuesday, December 18,
2018 at 2pm with Rev. Ellen Beairsto officiating. Donations in
Mary’s memory may be to Wilmot United Church or Canadian
Cancer Society.
