Mary Ann Reitzel (Weber)
Reitzel Mary Ann,
Passed away at Nithview Community Long Term Care in New Hamburg on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the age of 77. She courageously surrendered to complications as a result of multiple strokes while being comforted by the love of her family.
Beloved wife of Walter for 56 years. Unconditional loving mother to Earl (Karen), Mike (Catherine), Paul (Ruth), Joanne (Chris), Ed, Dianne. Cherished grandma “Nana” to Tori, Sara, Tabatha, Eric, Justin, Bradley, Kyle, Kayla, Josie, Crystal, Jessie, Chad, Carter, Jenal, Curtis and Nathan. Great-grandma to Colby, Evan, Savannah, Liam, Xander and Amara. Survived by her brother Allen (Audrey), sisters Marlene Fay (William), Sister Irene “Janet” and Lorraine. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Irene Weber (nee Kestner), twin brothers Oscar and Oswald, sisters Anna Campbell (John) and Doreen. She will be in the thoughts and memories of her many, many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was born and raised on the Weber family farm very near Formosa. After marrying, she continued a farming life with Walter, raising their family on the Reitzel family farm near St. Clements. Mary Ann liked to express her creative nature by quilting and fabric painting, favouring flowers, birds and butterflies. (No lack of colour in her passion or zest for life!) She was also devoted to tracking and recording family histories.

Private cremation has taken place. Mary Ann’s family will receive relatives and friends at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener (519) 749-8467 Sunday, October 28 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with prayers at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, October 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
