With heavy heart we announce the passing of Mary Ann on December 17, 2018 at the age of 78. Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Margaret (Peggy) Williams. Mary Ann is survived by her husband Hugh; children Geoff (Violante) of Bedford; Nancy (Anthony) Swan of Calgary; grandchildren Matthew and Liam McGinn and Jack and Lucy Swan. Mary Ann is also survived by two sisters, Alice (Michael) Hadley and Nancy (Alan) Knight and many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann graduated from Dalhousie University in Pharmacy and worked in Truro and most hospital pharmacies in Halifax. Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, playing bridge, cooking, listening and playing music, travelling, knitting and volunteering her time for various charity organizations. She will be missed by her family and all that knew her. Visitation will be held Friday, January 4th from 6-8 pm at Snows Funeral Home, Lacewood Drive. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 5th at 10 am at St. James Anglican Church, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary Ann’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Arborstone Enchanced Care 3rd floor for the loving and professional care they provided over the past 3 years as well as the compassionate support offered to us during Mary Ann’s last days.
