Obituary Overview
Marjory Bowie
Peacefully at the Bruyere Hospital on July 7, 2018. Beloved sister of Robert Michell, John Michell (Sylvia) and Stephen Michell (Marian), mother of Douglas Thew (Christina) and Edward Thew (Taleen), grandmother of Meaghan Thew. Born in Toronto in 1946, the first child of Stephen and Doreen Michell and the oldest sister of her three brothers, Marjory led them through being a child growing up in Agincourt and Huntsville Ontario. She loved picking apples, catching fish and frogs, and finding treasure. Marjory deeply loved music. She played the euphonium and trumpet, starred in the Huntsville High School Band, passing on her love of music to her sons, and sang in choirs with her granddaughter. She loved to travel and hitched trips with her travelling “big” brother and granddaughter. Marjory worked for 30 years as a geriatric and palliative nurse in Owen Sound and Ottawa. Friends and family are invited to visit at the Kelly Funeral Home Walkley Chapel, 1255 Walkley Rd, Ottawa, ON K1V 6P9 (613)731-1255 on Saturday July 14, 2018 after 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 4 p.m. For those wishing, donations to The Elisabeth Bruyère Foundation or The McGill University, Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology are appreciated.
