Marjorie Laurine MacIntyre
1925-2018
Marjorie Laurine MacIntyre – 92, of New Minas,
passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in Valley
Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born December 6th, 1925 in San Jose,
California, she was the eldest daughter of the late Roy and Lena
(McKnight) Cornwell, Crystal Beach, ON. Marge was a veteran of the
Second World War, having served in the R.C.A.F. She enjoyed gardening
and travelled with Bill to Europe and RV’ing throughout
Canada and the USA. A 70+ year resident of New Minas, she was a former
Brownie/Girl Guide Leader, assisted with the Apple Blossom Festival
float for many years and enjoyed many handicrafts including sewing,
knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. She was the original owner of
Knit-N-Stitch in the former Gardens Mall, New Minas. She is survived
by her children, Gail (Alan) Jarvis, New Minas; Scott, LaHave; Nancy
(Ken) Watts, Calgary and Kathie MacIntyre, New Minas. She will be
greatly missed by her grandchildren, Jason (Mary) Jarvis, Fort
Frances, ON; Stephanie (Colin Young) Jarvis, Fall River; Nicole
MacIntyre, Toronto, ON; Lauren Watts, Calgary, AB and Andrew Watts,
Toronto, ON and her three great grandsons, Conal Jarvis, Mississauga,
ON and Will and Noah Lucas, Toronto, ON. She is survived by two
sisters; her twin, Marion Dorland of Ontario and Elinor Stegen,
Dartmouth and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Marge was
predeceased by her husband, Bill and twin siblings, Douglas and
Dorothy. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service,
followed by a reception, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday November 24,
2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A private family
interment will take place in the Aylesford Union Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Valley Hospice
Foundation, Feed Nova Scotia or charity of choice. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
