It is with great sadness that the family of Marion Eleanor (Parkes) Walsh announce her sudden and peaceful passing on April 3, 2018 at St Marys Memorial Hospital after a brief illness at the age of 82.
Wife of the predeceased Joseph P Walsh (1977) and loving mother of Joseph W Walsh, wife: Jacquie (Anzelc), children: Christian, Lauren, Brennan; Monica, husband: Murray Phillips, children: Jessica (Brandon Palmer), Jenna (Matt Johns), Jordann (Sean Craig); Matthew Walsh, partner: Irene Watt, child: Jacob; Barbara, husband: Liam Delaney, children: Dana, Jennifer (Niall McCann), Sean, Laura. Dear sister of Joan (deceased Jack) Martin (North Bay), twin sister Marie (deceased Ron) Smith (Rockwood), Dianne (deceased Ralph) Pike (Stratford).
Marion and Joe married in 1957 and lived on Church Street, N, St Marys. They enjoyed cards, curling and family gatherings. Marion was recently recognized for her 60th anniversary with the CWL. In later life, Marion enjoyed travelling and golf with her then partner, John A Kilgallin, a dear friend of the family.
Visitation at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. S. St. Marys (519-284-2820) on Friday, April 6, from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY NAME OF MARY PARISH, Northeast corner of Widder St. E. and Peel St. N. St. Marys, on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the St Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation.
