1940-2018
CALDER, MARIE DARLENE(Graham) – Passed from our hands to God’s
on June19, 2018 at the Campobello Lodge Welshpool, Campobello, NB.
Marie (Graham) Calder; formerly of Canterbury was wife of the late
Theodore Calder of Welshpool, NB and was the daughter of the late
Harold and Grace Graham.
Early in their marriage, Marie and her late husband Teddy resided in
Ontario for a period time before establishing their home on the island
she loved. During her many years on Campobello Island, Marie was
employed at the canning plant, with NB Tourism, and at Campobello
Lodge, where she served as Union President.
Marie was a passionate caregiver at home and in the community. She
spent many years caring for friends and neighbors at Campobello Lodge.
Marie was also a volunteer on the local ambulance.
Marie looked forward to worshiping at her church. One of her biggest
joys was participating in the Cantatas. She was devoted to her
children and grandchildren. They enjoyed her love for fishing and
hunting. Marie was renowned for her cooking. She had many friends with
whom she shared her adventurous spirit and keen sense of humor.
Perhaps her biggest job was raising her children extending to always
supporting a child overseas.
Marie is survived by her 2 sons: Colin and Russell Calder (Cindy) all
of Campobello, 5 daughters, Beth Mahoney (Stephen) of Morinville,
Alberta, Joanne Hicks of Ellsworth, Maine, Cathy Moores (Jerome) of
Dexter, Maine, Marianne Breault (Pierre) of New Hampshire and Jennifer
Calder of Hamden, Maine. A special niece Faye (Lenny) Lank. 8
grandchildren Reggie Jr., Jason, Elyse, Matthew, Kristian, Dustin,
Justin, Adam, 2 nephews Curtis and Christopher Lank. 2 step
grandchildren Tina and Amanda, 22 great grandchildren, 4 great-great
grandchildren.
Marie was predeceased by her parents Harold and Grace(Greer) Graham,1
son Theodore Russell, 1 grandson Jeffrey Moores, 2 brothers Laurel
and Keith and 3 sisters Joyce Barr, Lona Johnson and Sherrill Kinney.
Son-in-law Reginald Hicks Sr.
Survived by brothers Dennis, Glendon (Sylvia) and Wayne(Connie),
sisters Cecily(Reginald) Fredericks and Raelene(Raoul) Theriault and
sister-in-law Vera Calder. She is survived by many nieces and
nephews.
The funeral service will be held at North Road Baptist Church,
Welshpool, Campobello, NB on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 with time to be
announced. Please check with the funeral home on the specific time due
to an unexpected delay.
The interment will take place in North Road Cemetery followed
by a reception in the church hall.The family will receive friends
during a time of visitation on Friday from 7 … 9 pm only.
