Obituary of Maria Boyd-Smith
BOYD-SMITH, Maria (nee Pertschi) –It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother/grandmother, Maria, on Friday, November 16th, 2018, at her home in Belleville, surrounded by her children, at the age of 69 years. Born in Austria to Matthias and Christine Pertschi. Cherished Mother of Jennifer (James) Silcott and Robert Xander, both of Belleville. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Joshua (John), Jemma and Jimmy. Dear sister of Elisabeth (late Clifford), Anna (Oliver), Hildegard and Peter (Sherry). Maria will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family. She will fondly be remembered for her creativity, determination and generous spirit. We love you and will miss you greatly. The family offers special thanks to Dr. Janice McPhail for her care, compassion and support. Cremation has already taken place. Family and friends are invited to Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville (613-968-2273) for visitation on Thursday, November 22nd, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. to share memories of Maria. Memorial Service to be held in the chapel on Friday, November 23rd, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment to be held at St. James Cemetery at a later date. If desired, donations to the Quinte Humane Society or the V.O.N. Belleville, would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
