Margaret (Marg) Jemima Sim
The passing of Margaret Jemima Sim of Saskatoon occurred at the Luther Special Care Home on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at the age of 92 years.
Margaret (nee Johnston) was born on November 11, 1926 at Glamis, Saskatchewan. She moved to the Eston area in 1929 with her parents and brothers. In 1945, she married Fred Skaalid and they had four children. Upon his death in 1953, Marg and the kids moved to Rosetown. She married Fred Sim in 1955, and they continued to work and live in Rosetown until they moved to Saskatoon in 1994. Marg loved to sew, knit, crochet, do petit point, play cards, and build jigsaw puzzles. She made many treasured keepsakes for her family and friends.
Margaret is survived by her sons: Dennis Skaalid of Edmonton, Garry (Sharon) Skaalid of Regina, Allen (Donna) Skaalid of Saskatoon; and her daughter, Gail Barr of Saskatoon. Also surviving her are eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Fred Skaalid; her second husband, Fred Sim; her step-daughter, Patricia Wilson; her parents; and brothers.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Luther Special Care Home where Marg resided for the past 10 ½ years, for the kindness and compassion shown to her, and for the excellent care that she received.
Interment of cremated remains will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens at a later date.
