Roache, Luella Jane (nee Cook) 1931-2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Luella on June 11, 2018, at Juravinski Hospital. Predeceased by her husband of 37 years, George Joseph Edward Roache, her parents Elbert and Gladys Cook, her grandson Andrew Herkel, her great-granddaughter Chantelle Pissey, as well as brothers Kenneth, Percy, Hubert, Harold and Edmund, all of Lunenburgh. Loving mother of Martha (Steven Klimek) of Canfield, Kenneth of St. Catharines, Diane of Hamilton, Joseph James (Kitty) of Mount Hope, and Maryanne (Brian Herkel) of Port Dover. She will be remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as her many nieces and nephews. Luella is survived by her sister Helen Moak of Lunenburgh, brother Bertrum Cook of St. Catharines, and sisters-in-law Shirley Cook of Long Sault and Alice Lalonde of Cornwall. Luella was born in Stormont County, Ontario and lived in West Germany, Ottawa and Hamilton. Special thanks to the staff of Juravinski Hospital (Ward F3) and Abington Court Retirement Home for their care and compassion. Following Luella’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service was held as she was laid to rest next to her beloved husband and grandson at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hamilton. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
