Lois Priscilla Black 2018

OBITUARY
Lois Priscilla Black
November 29, 1926 – July 16, 2018
With broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our family’s Matriarch, Lois Black (our Noni), with family by her side, on Monday July 16, 2018 at St. Boniface Hospital. She was 91 years young and will live forever in our hearts.
Noni is survived and sorely missed by her loving husband Jeff, her six children; Jeff (Cindy), Lindsay (Joseph), Patty (Richard), Jody (Doug), Kim (Ed) and Wendy (Rynie); her 9 grandchildren; Richard, Ryan, Patrick, Peter, Kate, Ben, Georgia, Jackson, and Sydney; her 6 great grandchildren, brothers-in-law Dr. Leon Rubin and Dr. Allan Hawkins; and sisters-in-law Patty Johnstone and Hilda Colwell, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.
Our Noni was the quintessential wife and mother. Our parents just celebrated their 67th Anniversary and over the years shared a common love of life that always included family and friends. She would go to any lengths for her children and grandchildren and they were her pride and joy.
There was always room at her table for family, friends and neighbours and especially out of town guests. She was the first to join any club and took a leadership role in most. She was a devoted member of her PEO Chapter H Sisterhood for over 60 years. Noni was an adventurer at heart and always jumped at the chance to go on a road trip, picnic or outing.
Noni was proud of her Saskatchewan roots and loved reminiscing of her childhood spent on her grandparents’ farm. She loved to sing and dance, and should have been on Broadway, but her true calling and passion was her family. She had 6 children before she even learned how to drive when she was in her 40’s and drove until her 90’s. She loved watching PBS music specials and often called to tell us to tune in. When guests came into town, she enjoyed being the ultimate tour guide and host. She was a huge sports fan and never missed a Jets or Bombers game.
Noni was a kind, beautiful, generous soul and the person her family aspires to be. She was always happy and positive and lit up every room she entered. She was “our sunshine” and will forever be remembered.
