Obituary for Lois Downton
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the age of 92 years. Lois is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Florence May Downton and her brothers, George Downton and Robert Downton Jr. (Queenie). Also predeceased by lifelong friends, George and Elizabeth Easton and their children. George and Cheryl.
Lois is survived in England by her nephew, Russell Downton (Judy), niece Roslyn Oake (Roger) and their families. Also, in Newfoundland, by several cousins, especially Louise Coffin (Owen deceased), June Tetford (Bill deceased) and Alister Downton (Florence deceased) and their families. Lois was loved as a sister by Lorraine Goosney (Bob), Cynthia Russell (Gerry), Linda Boone (Ernie), Rosalind Young (David), Gail Reid (Paul) and Joy Colbert (Dan) and their families, as well as the families of George and Cheryl, including Cheryl’s husband Larry Clearly. She will also be missed by her friends and staff at Karwood Retirement Home. Cremation has taken place taken place with funeral notice and visitation times to be given at a later date.
