Lillian R. LeRue
Lillian Rosamund, LeRue (Whitman), age 92, Halifax. On April 4th, 2018, a loving mother and gentle soul began a new journey to be with her Saviour. Lillian was born in East Inglisville, Annapolis County on February 3rd, 1926, to Guilford and Linda (Malcolm) Whitman. She was raised on the family farm where she enjoyed a wonderful life. Stories of this time were often repeated and told at family gatherings, over and over . Lillian left home at 16 to work in Saint John, New Brunswick and then Deep Cove, Nova Scotia, where she cared for Cyrus Eaton’s grandchildren. Later she moved to Halifax to work, living at the time with her sisters, where she met and married her husband Stan in 1951. Stan and Lillian raised four children in Timberlea. She was a devoted mother and a wonderful homemaker – setting very high standards! Lillian was a devout Christian who was committed to service for her Church, Church family and most importantly to her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Lillian had many interests, including writing poetry and songs, painting, reading and word games (played on her iPad). She also used Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family and loved seeing the children. Lillian is survived by her daughter Wendy LeRue (Lakeside), Anna LeRue (Halifax), daughter-in-law Donalee Ward (Halifax), sister-in-law Miriam Whitman (Bridgetown), brother-in-law John Blackwell (Halifax) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and her honorary grandson, Ty.
