Leanne Schultz
Leanne Rae Schultz, beloved daughter of Raymond and Eileen Schultz, passed away at home in Saskatoon on January 1, 2018 at the age of 58 years.
Leanne is survived by her mother, Eileen Schultz of Calgary, Alberta; and her brothers, Greg Schultz of Calgary, Alberta and Brad Schultz of Hornepayne, Ontario. Leanne was predeceased by her father, Raymond Schultz in 2009.
She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Jacqueline Schultz of Calgary, Alberta; niece, Emily Schultz of Calgary, Alberta; her nephew, Matthew Schultz of Calgary, Alberta; her lifelong friend, Cindy Hanson of Saskatoon; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other friends living in Saskatoon and the surrounding area.
Leanne was born and raised in Saskatoon. She attended Howard Coad elementary school and Mount Royal high school. She was quite active in athletics in her younger years, particularly enjoying running track and playing softball. One year, while still in elementary school, she won the city championship for her age group in the 60-yard dash, setting a city record that stood for many years.
She attended university at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, graduating with a degree in education. Not long after, she began her teaching career. Opportunity took her to Alberta where she taught elementary school in the far north at Fox Lake on the Little Red River Cree Nation. Later, she relocated to Strathmore, Alberta. While living in Strathmore she continued to teach elementary school in the neighboring town of Gleichen, primarily at the Siksika Outreach School.
One of Leanne’s passions was making jewelry. She loved to share it with family and friends. She eventually started to sell the jewelry at local farmer’s markets and even set up an online store that saw her selling her jewelry to people all over North America.
In 2009, following the passing of her father, Raymond, Leanne finished her teaching career and moved back to Saskatoon to assist in caring for her mother Eileen. She enjoyed her return to Saskatoon, having the opportunity to reconnect with several old friends. In the ensuing years and up to the time of her death, Leanne greatly enjoyed spending time with these friends as well as all of her aunts, uncles, and cousins living in the area.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Leanne Rae Schultz 2018.source
