Obituary of Lawrence Getson Jr.
Getson, Lawrence Malcolm Jr. – Age 57 of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, surrounded by his family. Born in Bridgewater on February 26, 1961, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Marion (Baker) Getson. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; daughter, Brandi-Lee Dawn (Gavin), Springfield; son, Brad-Allen Lawrence (Sarah), Newcombville; sisters, Margaret (Aubrey) McCarthy, Hebbville; Marsha (Paul) Veinot, Springfield; grandchildren, Griffin and Kathleen Schooten; many nieces and nephews. Lawrence was predeceased by sister, Marjorie Oakes and a brother in infancy.
Lawrence enjoyed snowmobiling, tinkering and he was a long-time member of the Tri-District Fire Department, Newcombville. Visitation will be 7-9 P.M., on Thursday, December 20 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A memorial service will be held 2 P.M, Friday, December 21 in Chelsea United Baptist Church, Chelsea, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lawrence’s memory may be made to the family or a charity of choice.
