Lawrence Ray Codlin
December 25, 1920 – May 24, 2018
After a brief illness, Ray Codlin passed away peacefully, at the Brantford General Hospital, on Thursday May 24, 2018. He was in his 98th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Donna Codlin (nee. Pottruff) in 2006. Loving father of Ken Codlin and Barbara Machmueller and her husband Klaus. Cherished grandfather of Julie Van Manen and her partner Joe Grubb, Matthew Machmueller and his wife Anne, Daniel Machmueller and his wife Mellissa, David Machmueller and his wife Meredith, Kendra Speirs and her partner Jeremy and Kassy Speirs. Great-grandfather to Elise and Olivia Van Manen, Jorja Grubb, Helena and Otto Machmueller, Amaris and Mason Machmueller, Tristen, Matthew, and Leah. Predeceased by his brother Clarence Codlin (and the late Marjorie) and sister Dorothy Miller (and the late Walter). Forever remembered by his brother-in-law Ron Pottruff and his wife Mary Jean. Predeceased by his sister-in-law Marjorie Mahon and her husband Earl, and sister-in-law Verna Schuyler and her husband Harold. Ray will be dearly missed by his extended family and many dear friends. Ray was the proud owner of the Codlin Meat Market located in downtown Paris for many years and a local farmer all of his working life.
Friends will be welcomed at the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at 1 p.m. Rev. Adrianne Robertson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Paris Cemetery. In Ray’s memory, donations to Bethel Stone United Church would be appreciated by the family.
