CAMPBELL, Laurie Francis
– Age 77, Whycocomagh, passed away on Wednesday, January 3,
2018, at home. Born in Malagawatch, Inverness County, he was a son of
the late Charles Gilbert and Jessie Belle (Kennedy)
Campbell. Laurie worked as a truck driver for J.P. MacInnis
Trucking in Whycocomagh for many years. He is the last surviving
member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his wife, Madeleine (Cummings); daughters,
Melody (Dave) Curran, Halifax; Crystal MacLennan (Jason Campbell),
Melford; son, Shawn, Brantford, Ont; grandchildren, Jared and Beth as
well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first
wife, Catherine Murdena “Ta”; a son in infancy; brother,
Robert; sister-in-law, Christine; sister Dolena “Dolly”;
son-in-law, Blair MacLennan; niece, Marilyn MacLean.
Cremation has taken place. The will be no visitation. A
graveside service will take place at a later date in Malagawatch
Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Malagawatch Cemetery or to
the Parkinson Society Maritime Region. Arrangements are under the care
of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Words of comfort may
