Laurence Joseph Goulet, of Coronation, Alberta, passed away on March 23, 2018.
Laurence was born in Shaunavon, Sk on September 15, 1946. He was the fifth child of seven born to Victor and Cecile Goulet. Laurence grew up in Dollard, Sk. He attended school in Dollard, Shaunavon, North Battleford, and Eastend, Sk. Laurence enjoyed playing hockey, baseball and football. He was an avid Edmonton Oilers and Saskatchewan Roughrider fan.
Laurence married Linda McGuire in 1973. Together, they raised three daughters. Monique, Vickey, and Lauraine. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Hanna, Alberta where Laurence hauled oil for Koch Oil. In 1976 the family moved to Coronation, Alberta. Laurence operated a trucking business; Goulet Trucking Alta. hauling oil for many years and later cattle and bales. He worked hard but had time for fun too. Laurence played hockey for the Coronation Old Stock, played slo-pitch, and curled and golfed in Oilmen events. He took his kids to Expo, Disneyland and Disneyworld and returned to Disneyland with his granddaughters. Laurence and Linda were also active in the Thoroughbred Racing community across Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Laurence is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Monique (Wil), Vickey (Joe), and Lauraine (Chris), granddaughters; Summer and Breanna. Siblings: Gerard (Joyce), Roger (Judy), Jeannine, Raymond (Toni), Florence (Lea), numerous nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
Laurence was predeceased by his parents Victor and Cecile, youngest brother Charles, brother in law Butch, parents in law Louis and Luella, and brother in law Mike.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The Home Away from Home room at the Coronation Hospital.
