In Loving Memory
HALE, Lance Rayburn – Passed away in Brampton, ON, on June 16, 2018, one day shy of his 79th birthday. Lance was born in New Glasgow, NS, on June 17, 1939, to George (“Ted”) and Aileen (Fillier) Hale. He attended schools in Westville and Stellarton, and joined The Bank of Nova Scotia after completing a B.Comm. degree at Dalhousie University, working in branches in New Glasgow and Toronto. He also received a Diploma in Public Relations from the University of King’s College in Halifax. Lance worked for the NS Human Rights Commission, Mental Health NS, Mental Health Saskatchewan as Executive Director, Logistics Coordinator for the G7 Summit in Halifax, Tourism Industry Association of NS as Executive Director, and various NS Government departments. He also worked with the Abilities Foundation, the National Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Canadian Council of Christians and Jews, Wheelchair Sports NS, as well as various United Church committees. Lance met many people over the years, and always had a joke to be told. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Sharon Hale. Left to miss him are his wife Carol (Stevens), son Andrew (Elizabeth) of Ottawa, daughter Sara (Tim) Boudreau of Brampton, sister Rosalind (Mark) Penfound, Dartmouth NS, and grandchildren Robert and Katherine Hale and Charlie and Max Boudreau. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30th, 2018 at Brampton Funeral Home, 10061 Chinguacousy Road, at 2pm Many heartfelt thanks to the staff at Maple Grove Community in Brampton for Lance’s outstanding care during the past 4 years. He enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff, and especially the food. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice. Please take a moment to sign the guestbook.
